Q:
What is dry foam, and how does it work?
A: Dry foam is basically a very high tech, supped up shampoo.
It has the consistency of shaving cream, so,
it has some
moister to it. It is referred to as the dry system.
The foam is injected into the carpet.
Three spinning
brushes at the bottom
of the machine scrub the foam all around each pile,
all the way down to the bottom.
The foam attracts
and attaches to the dirt. Then, it crystallizes.
Next, the machine goes over the area a second time,
picking up
the crystallized foam that has the dirt attached.
The moister
that remains has the color brighteners,
sanitizers, deodorizers, and stain guard in it.
Q: What is the difference between
dry foam and steam cleaning?
A: Steam cleaning is when a big van comes
to you with the long hoses. In most cases,
they simply
shoot hot water (steam) into the carpet,
then, they try to suck it all out. Basically,
doing just
a big rinse. Usually,
they get out about 60% of the moister they use.
The moister they leave behind can cause mold,
and mildew.
Also, with the steam, often times padding can
be melted, or shrunk. This is impossible with the dry foam.
The dry foam
system uses spinning brushes to clean
and scrub not only the top of the carpet,
but goes all the way down to the bottom.
Q: Is this the type of cleaning
with the trucks and hoses?
A: No, trucks and hoses are steam cleaning.
The dry foam machine is self contained and
about the size of a large vacuum cleaner.
Q: Where does the dirt go?
A: Once the foam has attached to the dirt, it crystallizes.
Then, when the machine goes over it the second time,
the brushes
lift up the crystals and it goes to a
holding area at the bottom of the machine.
Q: Can I rent something like
this?
A: No, nothing is even close to this.
You cannot
rent the type of chemicals that are used.
They are commercial grade.
Q: When can I walk on my carpet?
A: You can walk on your carpet right away.
It is totally safe for you and your carpet. However,
if your shoes
are dirty, you should stay off until the carpet is dry.
Also, if you do walk on the carpet when it it is still wet,
then walk on tile, or hardwood, be careful. It could be very slippery.
Q: When can I put my furniture back?
A: You can put most furniture back right away.
The tech will be able to tell you if something needs to stay off longer.
I usually
feel it’s better to be safe, than sorry.
So, I usually tell people to wait a good two hours.
Q: how long does it take to dry?
A: Most carpet should take 30 to 120 min to dry.
The more pre-spotting,
or the more
times it needs to be gone over,
the longer it will take to dry.
Q: Is dry foam safe for my pets?
A: Dry foam is totally safe for pets. It is 100% hypoallergenic.
I usually tell
people to try to keep their pets off the carpet until
it’s dry because
the moister will attract loose hair in their coats.
Q: Is dry foam safe for my kids?
A: Yes, it is totally safe for kids and adults.
It is 100% hypoallergenic.
Q: Are there any fumes?
A: No, there are no fumes. Most people however do
smell a clean fresh sent from the deodorizers.
Q: How long does it take to clean my house?
A: Depending on how dirty or how many spots there are,
most 4 bedroom
2600 sf. Homes take about 60- 90 minutes.
Most 2 bedroom
apartments take 30-45 minutes.
Couches take about 15-25 minutes.
Q: Will all of my spots come
out?
Will my carpet look new again?
A: No, nothing anyone can do will make your carpet
look new.
There will
always be wear.
Spots simply depend on the spots themselves.
Q: Will my spots come back?
A: That depends on the spot, the carpet, the padding,
and how much of the spill got treated when it happened.
If it was
a large spill, and the liquid got down into the padding,
it will eventually
work itself back up and out.
Humidity and traffic all help bring old spots to the surface.
Most spots
come out in one cleaning.
Some spots do come back several times. That is the nature of carpet.
Q: Can the dry foam damage my carpet or furniture?
A: No, it is impossible for the foam to damage the carpet.
The tech will
remove any furniture that
might rust before he starts that area.
Q: How long have you been doing
this?
A: I have been using the dry foam system for over 8
years.
Q: Are there any hidden charges?
A: No, there are no hidden charges.
No fuel charge, no tax, no anything but what you were quoted.
The only time
it will be more,
is if you decide to add another area or furniture.
Q: What are your hours?
A: I work around your schedule. I am available 24/7.
